Trou aux Biches Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa

” Hi, it’s Izzy and my mum here! We’ve come back from one of the most magical places we’ve ever stayed, Trou aux Biches Beachcomber in Mauritius and we couldn’t wait to tell you all about it!

When we arrived, we could hardly believe our luck, we’d been given a beachfront villa with our very own private pool! Mum actually squealed when we opened the door, yes, squealed and so did I. The room opened right out onto soft white sand and sparkly blue sea. It was like walking into a postcard.

After unpacking, we ran to the beach to catch the sunset. The sky turned this amazing orangey-pink that looked like someone had painted it with a giant brush. It was like the clouds were glowing!

Back at the villa, we had the coolest shower ever, outside! Mum kept saying “this is what dreams are made of,” and I have to admit, it was pretty epic. After our showers and a quick change, we headed down to the beach for drinks. Grown-ups had cocktails and fancy snacks, and guess what? Us kids had our own little beach area with mocktails and trays filled with goodies, marshmallows, chocolate cookies, and other yummy stuff. Mum said it felt very “VIP,” and I totally agree.

That night we went to Mahiya, the Indian restaurant at the resort, and oh wow… let’s just say we were in foodie heaven. I had butter chicken and the fluffiest naan bread EVER. Mum was swooning over the biryani. We even got to try a traditional Indian instrument called a santoor, there was so much giggling and fun, even the adults got involved.

The next day mum explored the hotel and I had a private tennis and padel lesson. There are six tennis courts, paddle courts, and get this, it’s the first hotel in Mauritius to have a CrossFit gym! Not that I’m into lifting weights (yet!), but Mum was impressed. If you’re into golf, the green fees are included if you’re on the all-inclusive package, my dad would LOVE this!

Lunch was at La Plage, a gorgeous beachside restaurant where the grown-ups could relax and us kids could play. We made hot wheels tracks in the sand that kept us busy for ages. It felt super fancy but also really chilled, the perfect mix!

After lunch, it was time to hit the water. I jumped on a pedalo and Mum grabbed a paddle board. She even snorkelled to spot colourful coral and fish. Trou aux Biches is famous for turtles, so we were on the lookout the whole time.

All too soon, it was time to check out and move on to our next adventure. But we both agreed: Trou aux Biches wasn’t just a hotel, it was a whole experience. From the luxury villa and magical sunsets to delicious dinners and beachside fun, it ticked all the boxes for both kids and grown-ups.
