Whatever your taste, there is a wealth of gastronomic delights to enjoy and for sportier visitors, you can take advantage of a wide range of onshore and offshore activities.

Why We Love it

The Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury Resort is the leading hotel for the Beachcomber brand so you can set your expectations seriously high when booking a stay here.

Located on the sheltered north-west coast, stretching along a pure white sandy beach in what we can only describe as a tranquil tropical haven. Just a short walk from the picturesque Grand Baie, a gorgeous marina where you can see the fisherman at work, enjoy a leisurely stroll browsing the boutique shops, take time to people watch whilst enjoying some of the local cuisine at one of the many restaurants, taking in the vibrant and colourful vibe.

Walking in through the hotel entrance you immediately feel the inviting ambience, a quiet calm and elegance envelopes you. The reception area is just as welcoming together with the wonderful, warm staff who greet you. You will also find a gorgeous library area, with a wide array of books to choose from should you wish to enjoy some light reading.

The entire resort flows seamlessly with an indoor/outdoor feeling of space with tropical flowers and fauna throughout. The stunning beach offers a welcome sea breeze as you enter onto the outside terrace which leads onto the most stunning soft, white sand beach. We spent much of our time on the beach, which is ideal for basking as it is protected by the trade winds, while others stopped just shy of the beach and enjoyed the coconut palm-lined sun-deck by the pool.

You are allocated your own sunbed on the beach for the duration of your stay, which is a lovely touch and you are also able to enjoy a wide selection of water sports, boats and paddleboards if you want a little more action than simply sunbathing all day. We spent many hours sitting in the bar area, which overlooks the beach, taking in the scenery and listening to the waves lapping up onto the shore… the perfect spot to take in the most spectacular sunsets.

Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury also boasts award-winning cuisine. Three restaurants, all overlooking the sea, presided over by French Chef Christian Née, who obtained the title of ‘Best Craftsman of France’, is nothing short of a tantalising culinary experience. Choose from the casual elegance of Le Bar Plage, the spacious terrace of La Goélette or the intimate setting of the Italian restaurant named Le Brezza, where you will receive absolute perfection.

The level of service offered from the staff is impeccable (who outnumber guests three to one), with your every wish anticipated and every whim satisfied. Whether you are enjoying a meal in one of the hotel’s restaurants, a treatment at the lavish spa or simply relaxing on the beach, at one of the hotel’s three swimming pools (including a 25-metre lap pool), the team here are absolutely committed to your comfort.

The accommodation also does not disappoint. The discreet suites are gorgeous, combining delicate and bold hues, fine fabrics, and custom made wooden furniture crafted by local artisans. Finished to a high standard, beautifully appointed and all with sea views, screened by palms and looking out towards Grand Baie, or ’bay without end’ as the Dutch called it. There are a wide variety of room types to suit all guests, with the lead in room type being amazing, so you can only imagine how fantastic the higher room types are. Recently overhauled and refurbished, the new design preserves the hotel’s unique atmosphere, natural charm and timeless elegance.

The spa facilities at the Royal Palm are out of this world. You feel like you are encased in your own little sanctuary where you can make use of the fully equipped gym, table sports, Pilates studio, squash court, yoga studio, weight room, cardio room… you really do have everything here that you could possibly want and need.

We were blown away by the whole resort, and the service really was exemplary. The location in the north of the island is perfect and you can expect better weather here year round compared to the rest of the island.” ~ James & Karen
