5* Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa - Mauritius

We have recently returned from a relaxing week away with friends, staying at the Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa. The hotel neighbours to the Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa and is set in the South West of the island and is the perfect location for kitesurfing due to the windier climate, so you can expect to see many visitors seeking out the best waves that Mauritius has to offer here. We travelled to Mauritius in September and found the weather was a little cloudy and temperamental, with the days warm and a little overcast so this is worth considering if you are looking for more sunshine and warmer temperatures.

There’s no doubt about it, Mauritius is paradise – a small island sheltered by barriers of coral reefs in the Indian Ocean, creating crystal-clear lagoons whose only competition are the perfect white sand beaches and azure sea. The Dinarobin is set at the foot of Lamorne Mountain, gives the resort the most spectacular backdrop, as well as the picture-postcard views of tropical gardens, thatched villas and grand historical buildings… not forgetting the mile long white sand beach.

On entering the resort, you are spoilt with fantastic views of the infinity pool, drawing your eye to the stunning views laid out ahead of you. This was the first of many wow moments to come. The infinity pool though is more of a feature rather than a sunbathing area, although as you will find, there are a number of pools dotted around the resort which are at the heart of each set of properties.

The rooms are large, spacious suites with outdoor seating areas and although very lovely, in our opinion they were slightly dated. Not that they need refurbishing, they just aren’t modern in design. The accommodations are set around their own mini pool, where you will find plenty of sunbeds and a welcome relaxing vibe, the perfect sanctuary. The pools are never crowded, but you will find most people head down to the beach.

Now, the beach is another wow moment… simply beautiful. Sunbeds are spaced out so you feel as if you have your own private area. Yet you are only moments from one of the cool beach bars, which we loved to sit at and watch the stunning sun sets of an evening.

Rest and rejuvenation are often top of ones list when taking a holiday in Mauritius, so you must spend some time at the spa. Tucked away in lush tropical gardens at the foot of Le Morne Mountain, ensuring you are as close to nature as possible. An authentic blend of Eastern cultures, showcasing the very ethos of this Mauritian sanctuary.

The ambience is quieter and more grown up at the Dinarobin but kids are very welcome, so may be more suited to families with older children.
