“After a whirlwind start to our Mauritius adventure, Izzy and I found ourselves stepping into paradise as we arrived at Canonnier Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa. Tucked away on the northern tip of Mauritius, this resort became our home for two nights.
We arrived early morning, and right from the start, it felt like we were stepping into something magical. We were greeted by the Kids Club team with personalised welcome bags for each child, full of little surprises that made Izzy beam with excitement.
After breakfast, fresh fruit and pancakes, we did our first kids club drop-off and what a start! The kids were whisked away to the beach for a crab hunting adventure. Tiny feet chasing tiny crabs along the shoreline, giggling and shrieking as they tried to catch one before the waves did. Izzy later told me, very seriously, that she was now “a professional crab finder.”
Meanwhile, I had a moment to sit with a coffee and just breathe, no rushing, no planning, just that soft, warm breeze and a big sense of peace whilst learning about this beautiful hotel.
The next morning, it was time for a mini golf showdown on the resort’s picture-perfect course. With ancient banyan trees around us and the sea just beyond the green, we laughed our way through every hole.
Izzy won.
This hotel packs a punch, whilst smaller to the other beachcombers resorts on the island, it felt cozy and friendly. Everyone greeted you with a smile and knowing of who you were. The spa hidden in the banyan tree is like you’re stepping into another world and the activities are endless including a teen club built into a fort.
Two nights at Canonnier Beachcomber gave us so much more than just a place to stay. It gave us adventure, stillness, joy and time to just be together.
The staff felt like friends, the food was always full of colour and love, and the whole resort had this laid-back elegance that made every moment feel easy and special.
