” I had the chance to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and experience pure luxury at One&Only The Palm in Dubai. Tucked away on the western tip of Palm Jumeirah, this hotel is a hidden gem that feels like a secluded oasis despite being just a short distance from the city’s iconic skyline. The minute I arrived, I knew I was in for something special.
What really stood out to me from the get-go was how exclusively private the whole resort felt. You can literally arrive at the hotel by boat. Gliding over the water as Dubai’s skyline slowly disappeared behind me felt surreal. The short boat ride added a layer of adventure that set the tone for the entire visit. I recommend this for anyone seeking to start their stay on a high note—there’s just something about arriving somewhere by sea that makes it all the more magical.
Once you step onto the property, the atmosphere completely shifts. You’re surrounded by lush gardens, beautiful architecture, and the sound of trickling fountains. The hotel is designed in a way that blends Moorish and Andalusian architecture with sleek modern touches. It feels very regal but with a cool, laid-back vibe. It’s not overly flashy, but it has this elegant charm that whispers luxury in every corner.
The highlight of my evening had to be dinner at 101 Dining Lounge and Bar. Located on a private marina, it offers the most stunning views of the Dubai skyline, especially as the sun sets and the city begins to light up. It’s hard to put into words, but the atmosphere was almost hypnotic — the gentle waves, the soft breeze, and the lights from the skyline flickering in the distance. The menu was a fusion of Mediterranean flavours with a few creative twists, and everything was so fresh and beautifully presented. If you’re a seafood lover like me, the sea bass and the octopus are absolute must-tries.
The service? Impeccable. The staff go above and beyond to make sure everything feels personalised. It’s one of those places where you’re made to feel like royalty, but in the most subtle, comfortable way.
While 101 stole my heart, the entire resort offers so much more. The hotel has a gorgeous private beach that feels like you have it all to yourself, plus a world-class spa that’s the perfect spot to unwind after a day in the sun. The pool area is also to die for, with oversized loungers and cabanas that invite you to stay just a little longer. Whether you’re someone who wants to stay active or just relax, there’s something for everyone.
