Why we love this !
“It’s truly a fabulous family resort and has something for all ages. For us, it was the location that sold it, the marina is just a two minute walk through a secured gate and a short walk to a stunning beach which has shallow waters, so it’s great for the little ones to splash around safely.
We loved the pool area, they’re split up into two sections, with one of the pools even having a sandy bottom that creates a beach feeling without being on the beach!
The rooms were spacious and nicely laid out with lots of different room types, so there’s the option to have different room configurations. Some of the upgraded rooms come with the Haute Living feature, a place of luxury to sit back and relax with access to food and drink all day.
Not only is the location of Domes Lake Algarve fantastically located to the marina of Vilamoura and Praia da Falesia beach but you’re also so close to a lot of the main towns in the Algarve. Quinta Do Lago is only twenty minutes away and well worth a visit, we loved this little town. We would recommend hiring a car on your visit, so you can get around with ease.
Oh, the food! The food at Domes in Portugal is honestly amazing, there’s so much choice and something for everyone so you will never be stuck for options. We loved that if you have dietary requirements, the chefs will personally meet with you and work with you to find your favourite dishes and customise them.
The décor throughout the Domes is modern but has a homely feeling. There’s a check in lounge with big armchairs and sofas where you can go sit and relax with your drink whilst the team check you in.

- Makris On The Lake : Picture yourself on an anchored floating esplanade. With stunningly fresh, local, and organic ingredients, from all over the world-especially from Greece where he grew up-awarded Chef Petros Dimas creates multi-Med degustation wonders that will amuse, with an emphasis on Greek-Mediterranean flavours which he pairs beautifully with wines from the region.
- Topos Restaurant : Topos is an award-winning signature neo-Greek seafood restaurant. Executive Chef Dionysios Pliatsikas has drawn up a menu, with a Greek Island flare that will take you on a culinary journey to some of the most beautiful Islands in the Aegean.
- SORA Beach Restaurant : A beach bar-restaurant with Traditional Portuguese Seafood Cuisine & snacks for the sunbeds inspired by Executive Chef Vitor Moreira, who has immersed himself in the traditional cuisine of Portugal.
- Apricus Lagoon Bar: Set on a wooden pergola, with a bohemian Med Island vibe, surrounded by water, it gets its name from the Latin word Apricus – full of sunlight. Soak up the luxurious surroundings while you enjoy a cold drink and original snacks all day long under the vibes and sounds of happening DJ sets.
- Raw Gastro Bar : Raw Gastro bar is an elegant evening cocktail & champagne bar. Original Cocktails paired with eclectic raw gastro finger foods, featuring a shared ingredient, complete the richness of the experience.
- Pools : There are four pools in total for you to use at leisure, all with fresh water.
Three of these pools are situated outside, surrounded by the sound of palm trees swaying in the breeze and sunbeds to sink into. One is heated for use in the winter months whilst another has a sandy floor if you like the beach life! The fourth pool, you will find situated indoor located by the spa.
