The sense of luxury is also reflected in the dining experience. Foodies will never struggle for choice, with six diverse restaurants including Asian Fusion and an organic Cretan restaurant. With no danger of getting bored, the only thing that doesn’t vary is the quality of cuisine.
If you can bear to leave this paradise, head into nearby Gouves where you’ll find heaps of sandy beaches as well as some more lively nightlife options and a pretty seafront promenade. Seeking something a little more traditional? Take a trip to the small village of Pano Gouves and enjoy a coffee in the beautiful square.
” “As we drove up the grand entrance, we knew we were in for a special experience. Greeted by the warm welcome of staff, we stepped through the spa like doors and entered what felt like a whole new world. We were escorted to our villa that was situated in the ‘villa village’. As we approached our villa, we climbed the steps and walked through our cast iron gates that entered into our own private courtyard, complete with a water feature running through the middle. As the manager tapped the key card and our door opened, we were left speechless. We entered into a grand living space, complete with the largest white L shaped sofa and a table adorned with food and drinks galore. We walked through to the sliding doors in front of us, opening them up to reveal the most incredible outdoor space to a room that we’ve ever seen. A huge swimming pool overlooking the sea, beautiful wooden decking with an outdoor shower, table and chairs for those private meals and our favourite spot, the double outside bed! Back inside we explored the two-storey villa, complete with another living space upstairs and two bathrooms. This property hosts a wide range of incredible restaurants, that will make you want to eat more and more. One of our favourite spots was the stunning beach, white sand and crystal blue waters, pass the Aperol spritzes over please!” ~ Amy

The Room
I stayed in one of the sea-view rooms, and waking up to that sparkling blue every morning? Pure magic. The room was airy, light-filled, and beautifully designed—minimal, but with luxe touches everywhere (and a bed that basically hugged me goodnight).
Pools, Beach & Relaxation
Amirandes has that rare mix of feeling expansive and intimate at the same time. There’s a gorgeous lagoon-style pool, a private beach that’s just steps away, and plenty of sun beds so you’re never scrambling for a spot. I found myself happily switching between beach reading and poolside dozing all day. Bliss.
Dining
Now let’s talk food—because honestly, this might have been the highlight. From fresh seafood by the sea to decadent Greek desserts, every meal felt special. I especially loved the lagoon-side restaurant where you can dine under the stars. Don’t miss the local olive oil (and yes, I brought a bottle home).
Service & Atmosphere
The staff at Amirandes are genuinely lovely—attentive, but never overbearing. There’s a calm, easygoing rhythm to the resort that I really appreciated. Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with family, there’s a space for everyone.
Final Thoughts
Amirandes was more than just a beautiful hotel—it felt like a true retreat. I left feeling rested, inspired, and already dreaming of a return trip. If you’re planning a getaway to Crete and want that perfect mix of luxury, location, and laid-back charm, I can’t recommend it enough.” ~ Hannah
