“When a gap year becomes a gap decade, you know that travel is always going to be a massive component in your life.
I have been lucky enough to spend 13 summers working at a summer camp in NY, USA. Building incredible relationships and amazing memories, that first summer really kicked started a love for travelling, exploring new places and meeting new people. I have been lucky enough to live and work in 5 different countries all over the world soaking up different cultures and seeing some incredible things.
My love of football, beer and food means whenever I am heading somewhere new I will try to get tickets to a game, find the best brewery in town and have a list of all the best places to eat.”
What's your next big adventure?
Having just returned from a year in Australia the bank balance isn’t ready for a big adventure, but once the funds are back, I would love to go to Vietnam and go on a Royal Enfield Motorbike trip exploring the country, soaking up the culture and eating as many Banh Mis as possible!
Which items do you always take on your travels?
Running shoes – its one of the best ways to explore a new place and helps with the Jetlag
A Kindle
A Credit Card – do everything you want to do/can do whilst you are there – future George can worry about the expenses (this is not savvy financial advice)
What's your top travel tip?
Go with the flow – having an itinerary is always a good idea, however the best memories come from the random meetings or moments you stumble into so look out for them.
And no good story started with “this one time I had a salad”, eat all the great food you can!
