“From the moment I arrived at Fairmont Mayakoba, I could instantly feel that this wasn’t just a hotel, it was a whole little world of its own. Because it’s part of the wider Mayakoba complex, you’re surrounded by several luxury hotels all connected by lush jungle pathways, winding rivers and pretty wooden bridges. It honestly feels like walking through a small, beautifully designed village rather than a resort.
One of my favourite things about staying here is the freedom to dine at the other hotels within the complex. Since you can’t easily pop out into town from any of the Mayakoba resorts, having so many restaurants and bars to choose from is a huge selling point and a real treat if you love food as much as I do.
Fairmont Mayakoba itself is large, but in a way that feels exciting rather than overwhelming. You can cycle everywhere (which I loved) or hop on the golf buggies if you’re feeling a little more relaxed. Every path is surrounded by greenery, wildlife and water, it’s incredibly peaceful and really immersive.
It’s a brilliant option for both families and couples. There’s plenty of space, lots to do and a calm atmosphere that suits any kind of traveller.
And I have to mention the food… I had one of the best meals of my entire trip at their Asian- Mexican fusion restaurant. The flavours were incredible, bold, creative and totally unforgettable. It’s one of those meals you talk about for weeks afterwards.
Fairmont Mayakoba truly feels like a resort where you can slow down, explore, eat well and just enjoy being in nature without sacrificing any luxury.” ~ Hannah
