Itinerary

Fly from London (regional connections available) to Nairobi. Overnight at the Sheraton Four Points (or similar).

Transfer from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park by custom safari vehicle. Arrive for lunch followed by wildlife watching activities, when you may spot elephants silhouetted against thebackdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Overnight at Ol Tukai Lodge (or similar).

Spend a full day in Amboseli embarking on thrilling morning and afternoon safari drives that showcase the park’s diversity of wildlife. Look out for bush elephant, cape buffalo, spotted hyena, lion, cheetah and more. Overnight at Ol Tukai Lodge (or similar).

This morning, depart Amboseli and drive approximately 2 hours to the Tarakea border, crossing into Tanzania. Moshi is one of Tanzania’s most vibrant townships, and your visit reveals authentic village life. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Kambi ya Tembo (or similar).

Spend your morning within the West Kilimanjaro conservancy, visiting a Maasai village. Then, drive for 2 hours to Arusha for lunch, before proceeding for 3 hours to the Ngorongoro highlands – arriving for leisure time and dinner. Overnight at Ngorongoro Farmhouse (or similar).

Today, you visit one of Africa’s most dramatic wildlife destinations: the UNESCO-listed Ngorongoro Crater. Descend to the crater floor in search of the ‘Big Five’, the forested walls providing a photogenic backdrop. Travel through the Lerai Forest looking for leopard and onto the plains where wildebeests and zebras graze whilst cheetahs and lions lie in watch. Old elephants may pass your vehicle as distant rhinos wander and hippos wade. A picnic lunch maximises your time in the crater. Return to your lodge late afternoon. Overnight at Ngorongoro Farmhouse (or similar).

Descend from the Ngorongoro Crater onto the vast plains of the Serengeti, famous for hosting the annual Great Wildebeest Migration from October to July, as well as numerous species year-round. The concentration of predators in the Serengeti is high, with large prides of lion, numerous hyena clans, and regular sightings of both cheetah and leopard. Elephants, buffaloes, giraffes and antelopes can be found grazing, as can lesser-known species such as aardwolves, mongooses, caracals, servals, and hyraxes. Overnight at Kati Kati Camp(or similar).

Spend your day exploring the extensive plains of the Serengeti in search of the ‘Big Five’. If you would like to maximise your time on safari, take a picnic lunch with you into the park, dining in the vast savanna before returning to your lodge later in the day. Overnight at Kati Kati Camp (or similar).

Transfer to the airstrip for a short scheduled flight to Tarime, then transfer to Migori for your flight to the world-famous Masai Mara National Park. Arrive in the afternoon and enjoy the rest of your day at leisure, with the option of a safari drive. Overnight at Mara Leisure Camp (or similar).

Spend a full day in the Masai Mara on morning and afternoon safari drives, with the option of a hot-air balloon ride at extra cost. The renowned Masai Mara reserve and its adjunct concessions are home to prolific wildlife, including the ‘Big Five’. Travel between August and September and you may also witness the dramatic, heart-in-your-mouth river crossings of the Great Migration. Overnight at Mara Leisure Camp (or similar).

Transfer from the Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha, arriving in this wildlife-rich area of the Great Rift Valley for an afternoon at leisure. Optional activities include walks and community visits. Overnight at Lake Naivasha Country Club.

Take a morning boat ride on the shimmering freshwater lake of Naivasha. Then, enjoy a presentation on conservation pioneer Joy Adamson, sample speciality teas and visit the local museum. This afternoon, transfer to Jomo Kenyatta airport for your outbound flight. Alternatively, extend your journey with extra time to unwind on the coast.
