Athens isn’t just a city—it’s a living museum, a bustling metropolis, and a gateway to some of the most important stories in human history. From the towering columns of the Parthenon to the charming streets of Plaka, every corner of this city tells a story that spans over 3,400 years.

Here, ancient monuments rise alongside trendy rooftop bars, world-class museums sit next to colourful street art, and traditional tavernas hum with life well into the night.

This is a city for curious minds, history lovers, foodies, and adventurers alike. Whether you’re planning your first visit or your fifth, Athens always has more to offer—from hidden archaeological gems to vibrant open-air markets and seaside escapes just minutes away.

Day One: A Taste of Aegean Luxury

By 17:30, we were en route to Cape Sounio, a scenic coastal drive that offers views so stunning you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. The sun was beginning to soften as we arrived at our hotel at 18:15—and what a welcome! Nestled right on the edge of the Aegean, the property felt like a peaceful hideaway, with views stretching across the sea to the majestic Temple of Poseidon.

After check-in and a quick refresh, we headed to Yali Restaurant at 19:30 for pre-dinner drinks. Picture this: a cocktail in hand, the scent of salt and pine in the air, and the temple glowing gold in the distance as the sun dipped below the horizon. It was utterly magical.

Dinner at the hotel followed at 20:00, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Local seafood, rich olive oil, and that unmistakable Greek hospitality set the tone for the rest of the trip. I went to bed that night with a full stomach, a happy heart, and the sound of waves lapping just outside my room.

Day Two: From Sounio Serenity to Athenian Elegance

June 12th started bright and delicious. After a refreshing sleep, I headed to the Cape Sounio Restaurant buffet at 08:45 for breakfast. Fresh fruit, flaky pastries, thick Greek yogurt with honey, and a strong cup of coffee—the perfect start to the day.

At 10:00, we took part in a site inspection of the hotel. It was inspiring to see just how seamlessly luxury and nature are woven together here. Everything from the design to the service speaks to a deep respect for Greek culture and the surrounding landscape.

By 11:30, we were checked out and en route to The Roc Club—a stylish, contemporary space with a completely different vibe. We arrived by 12:15 and were treated to a tour of this chic venue before sitting down for lunch on the rooftop at 13:00. The views over the city were breathtaking, and the food? Fresh, modern, and beautifully plated—exactly what you’d expect from a trendy Athenian hotspot.

Next stop: THE DOLLI, our city base for the next leg of the trip. We arrived at this elegant hotel in the heart of Athens at 16:00, and the welcome drinks were a lovely touch. THE DOLLI combines neoclassical charm with contemporary design in a way that feels both luxurious and completely effortless.

After a quick site inspection at 16:15, we headed up to the rooftop restaurant at 17:00 for cocktails. With the Acropolis rising right in front of us, it was a moment I’ll never forget. There’s something about sipping a cool drink while gazing at one of the most iconic landmarks in the world that makes you feel both grounded and in awe. ” ~ Hannah
