“From the moment I stepped aboard Cunard’s Queen Anne, I knew I was in for something special. There’s a certain grace about Cunard ships, an understated, traditional luxury that feels wonderfully refined yet instantly welcoming.
The décor is everything you’d hope for from a ship of her calibre: rich, dark woods, soft lighting, and plush seating that invites you to linger with a glass of wine or afternoon tea. Every corner exudes old-world charm, but with a modern polish, the perfect balance between heritage and comfort.
One of my favourite spaces quickly became the Pavilion, a beautiful pool deck complete with a retractable glass roof. By day, it’s filled with light and laughter, perfect for relaxing with a book or a dip in the pool. By evening, it transforms into an elegant, softly lit retreat, a lovely place to unwind as the ship sails into the sunset.
For those who love a touch of indulgence, the spa area is simply divine. From the serene treatment rooms to the thermal suite, it’s designed to help you slow down and savour every moment the very essence of what a Cunard voyage should be.
And then, of course, there’s the Golden Lion Pub, a nod to classic British hospitality at sea. Think polished wood, traditional ales, and hearty comfort dishes served with a smile. It’s the perfect spot for meeting fellow travellers or enjoying a quiet pint before dinner.
The staff, as always with Cunard, were exceptional, attentive without being intrusive, remembering names, preferences, and those little touches that make you feel genuinely cared for.
