Visitors to Turkey will have to apply for e-visas in advance
Following the decision to remove the self-service e-visa kiosks and wi-fi areas in Turkish airports from October 29, visitors will now have to apply for e-visas in advance of travel according to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s website.
Up to now, visitors without a visa have been able to apply for an e-visa from one of the airport kiosks on arrival in the country.
Visas for travel to Turkey are valid for multiple stays for up to a maximum of 90 days in an 180 day period. An e-visa costs US $20 which can be paid for by credit or debit card and can be applied for up to three months in advance of travel.
To obtain a visa, travellers must go to the official Republic of Turkey’s e-visa website, evisa.gov.tr.
