Your exploration continues along the Garden Route to Plettenberg Bay, a charming coastal haven perfect for relaxing on golden beaches or encountering abundant wildlife. The grand finale of this tour is an exhilarating safari, where you’ll venture into one of South Africa’s premier game reserves. Witness the majesty of the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros—amidst breathtaking landscapes. All the things you need to know

Fly to Cape Town. 

Arrive in Cape Town and settle into your selected hotel for a 4-night stay, where you’ll have plenty to discover in this vibrant city. Explore iconic landmarks such as Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront, and the historic Robben Island. Venture further to Cape Point, visit the charming penguins at Boulders Beach, or indulge in a wine-tasting tour of the nearby Winelands. Be sure to experience the city’s dynamic restaurant scene, offering exceptional value and a blend of local and innovative cuisine. We’d be happy to recommend our favourite dining spots. Additionally, we offer a wide selection of day trips, and we suggest booking them in advance to make the most of your time. 

A hire car will be delivered to your hotel for your scenic drive to the Winelands. Franschhoek, a charming village, is a lovely place to stay, while Stellenbosch is also well worth a visit. Along the way, you’ll find numerous wine estates to explore. For a unique experience, the wine tram is a fun way to sample the local wines. Enjoy a 2-night stay at your selected hotel, with a drive time of approximately 1 hour.

Explore the Klein Karoo with a scenic drive across the Franschhoek Pass, passing through Robertson and Montagu, before reaching Oudtshoorn. This charming town is renowned for its ostrich farms and the awe-inspiring Cango Caves. Enjoy a 2-night stay at your chosen hotel, with a drive time of approximately 4½ hours.

Discover the Garden Route as you drive to the coast, taking in the stunning landscapes of Wilderness and Knysna before reaching Plettenberg Bay. Enjoy nature walks, ziplining in Tsitsikamma Forest, or opt for a whale-watching boat trip or a dinner cruise on the Knysna Lagoon. Stay for 3 nights at your chosen hotel, with a drive time of approximately 2½ hours.

Enjoy your final game drive and breakfast before driving to Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) airport to drop off your hire car and catch your onward flight via Johannesburg to the UK.
