Our wonderful Amy in our Repatriation team has recently returned from her honeymoon at Abaton Island Resort and Spa, read on to find out what she thought.
Our Story…
Jack and I got married in March and had booked Dubai as our honeymoon, due to Covid-19 we were unable to travel.
We contacted our Leisure team and they were incredible at moving everything and making sure we found another very special destination with no stress!
The team found us Abaton Island, an amazing destination in Greece and we couldn’t wait to finally get away on our honeymoon in September.
We woke up on the day of travel very excited. From parking the car and using the airport shuttle, to going through customs and boarding the plane, everything felt so well organised and safe. Multiple times Jack and I praised how well everyone was doing and how safe we felt.

One word sums this resort up, WOW!
From the champagne that greeted us on arrival, all the staff knowing our names, to the private pool in our room. Every inch of this resort has been thought about to perfection.
We were shown to our room, a deluxe seafront room with private pool, which again did not disappoint. It was modern, fresh, spacious and we loved the little extra’s such as the espresso coffee maker, his and her bathroom space and the electric curtains which with a click of a button from your bed in the morning, let the sun come streaming in. The outdoor space was perfect too, with a sofa, sunbeds and our private pool to dip in out of was just blissful.
Dotted around the resort are lots of snug areas, very private and secluded in which to enjoy each others company and have a cocktail or two. Our favourite snug though was the high decking area which had gorgeous rocking chairs and looked out over the sea, watching the sunset with staff on hand to bring you drinks and snacks was just incredible and so relaxing.
The food, well, with multiple high-end restaurant’s such as infamous ‘Buddha Bar’ – the food here is out of this world. All tastes are catered for from seafood to steak, every evening, dinner was always a 5-course meal and the breakfast a selection of caviar, fresh salmon, fruit anything you desired you could have. The food really is one of the highlights of the hotel, a foodies heaven.
Taking into account that we were fortunate to get away during this pandemic and between lockdowns, we were so impressed by how the hotel was at the top of it’s game with cleaning, making sure that everywhere was cleaned thoroughly every day and even down to being able to use an app on your phone to look at the menus and place your order etc. All staff were wearing facemasks and both Jack and I felt very safe and reassured.
The hotel attracts quite a niche clientele, it is an instagramers heaven, very modelesque and appeals to many of the rich and famous, a definite high-end vibe. Given this many people spent a lot of time in their own private spaces and rooms, which just adds to the exclusivity of this gorgeous resort.
The resort is about a 30 minute walk from the nearest shop and enjoys its own private beach, which is a little rocky in some areas but the water is crystal blue and there are plenty of sun beds to choose from. This hotel really does tick all the boxes.
If you are looking for a resort that has luxury and relaxation, then Abaton Island is certainly that.
