Meon Valley Travel is currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join our experienced and enthusiastic Accounts team in Petersfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join a family owned, innovative, high-speed, award-winning travel agency which prides itself on 50+ years of travel knowledge and expertise.

This role will be best suited to an Accounts Assistant with a passion for finance, a keen hunger to learn and appreciates high service levels.

Principal Duties will include

  • Purchase ledger – coding, process and payment of invoices
  • Sales ledger – issuing statements and communicating with debtors to collect outstanding
  • General reconciliation of payments
  • Processing of expenses and credit card claims
  • Assisting the Financial team with various tasks and covering during holidays
  • Dealing with enquiries on the phone and face to face
  • Any other ad-hoc administration duties as and when required


What you will need to succeed

  • Must have attention to detail
  • Must be numerate
  • Happy to work in small team
  • Must have good attitude and enjoy problem solving


  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as necessary, and undertake any other reasonable duties/responsibilities as requested by your Line Manager in a professional and timely manner
  • Adhere to Company policy and procedure at all times
  • Work as part of a team and to communicate effectively with others
  • Attend and contribute to office/team meetings as appropriate
  • Ensure client and Company confidentiality at all times
  • Attend any necessary training courses to ensure professional and personal development
  • Contribute to the profitability of the Company by keeping expenses/overheads down
  • Attend client/Company events where it is deemed appropriate by your Line Manager
